Drawing on decades of experience, our strategic consulting services empower museums to expand their global reach and impact. The Museum Box organizes and places traveling exhibitions for museums worldwide. As part of this service, we assess financial viability, determine fee structures, and design exhibition proposals. We manage the full placement process: prospecting and securing venues through our global network of 800+ museums, creating and negotiating tour contracts, budgeting, overseeing vendor bidding, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Our team brings deep experience across North American, Europe, Asia and Oceania, with particular expertise in navigating partnerships and professional practices in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China.

The Museum Box offers standalone project management and registration support for museum teams facing a staff departure, parental leave, a particularly demanding exhibition calendar, or the onboarding of new staff. We provide end-to-end exhibition management, acting as a central point of coordination across budgets, contracts, logistics, shipping, insurance, and curatorial workflows. Our scope of work spans project and timeline management from pre-production through install and deinstall, registration and shipping oversight, vendor management, budget oversight with real-time tracking and variance reporting, loans and lender coordination, and ongoing liaison with venues and co-organizers throughout a tour. Our project managers come from museums, so no onboarding period is required, and each engagement is matched to the appropriate seniority level with oversight from our Director of Exhibitions throughout the project.
